DR. David W Richards

Dr. Richards, the scientific director at Utah Fertility Specialists, is a Doctoral IVF specialist who carried out his initial training in IVF at the USC and UCLA programs in California. Dr. Richards also received training from Dr. Jacques Cohen, one of the world’s leading IVF authorities. Dr. Richards then became the director of the Northridge IVF program in California. American Health magazine named Dr. Richard’s clinic as one of the top 5 most successful IVF centers in the country. Dr. Richards has been an expert for movie and TV including working with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

After relocating to Utah in 1997, where he grew up, Dr. Richards founded Utah Fertility Specialists, where he had envisioned and then created an IVF program providing patients the highest quality care in a personalized boutique style where he enjoys being able to focus attention to detail on each individual patient with combined success rates for pregnancies and babies born, he has remained one of the top IVF programs nationwide for over 30 years.

Dr. Lawrence S. Amesse

Dr. Amesse is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, as well as in obstetrics and gynecology. He is also board certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as an andrologist and High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD), and is a certified laboratory inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Prior to joining Dr. Richards at Utah Fertility Specialists, Dr. Amesse was a professor and director of reproductive endocrinology and infertility for the department of OB/GYN at Wright State Medical School in Dayton, Ohio, where he also served as director of the andrology laboratory. He has also served as an affiliate professor of clinical biomedical sciences at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Amesse graduated from the University of Michigan with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees before earning his Medical Degree at Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University with an Eastman Kodak medical student scholarship. He then received his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the National Institutes of Health and advanced fellowship training in IVF and medical genetics at Yale University School of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University and fellowship training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology from the University of Louisville, where he served as a faculty member.

He has been consistently recognized as one of America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists by the Consumers Research Council of America, and has shared his extensive knowledge and research in more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. He is a reviewer for the official journal of The American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Fertility and Sterility, and for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Amesse has received many awards for his work, among them the Physician Excellence Award, the Patient Satisfaction Award, the Dr. Jack Halki Award for outstanding achievement, and the National Research Award from the Yale University School of Medicine.
